Home-Visiting Volunteers

Our volunteer training course lasts between 30 and 40 hours and is accredited with the Open College Network.  Meet other volunteers and have some fun whilst learning about the help we offer to families and the support available for you as a volunteer.

We cover topics such as Confidentiality, Health and Safety, Values and Attitudes, Family Life and Safeguarding Children.  The course will give you the chance to get to know Home-Start, will give us the chance to get to know you, and will reassure you about the support available from the staff team.  There is no obligation to complete the course - come along to see if volunteering for Home-Start is something you might enjoy.

Our next volunteer preparation course will be starting in November 2018, which will be both day and evening sessions. If you're interested in making a huge difference to a Flintshire family, please get in touch on 01352 744060 for an informal chat about what is involved and application pack.

All volunteers will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check. There will be no charge to the individual.

Group Support Volunteers

Due to the nature of our group support we offer a condensed training course as you will be working as part of team within a group setting within the community.  Meet other volunteers and get an insight in to a different model of support for families needing an extra bit of help and support.

We cover topics such as Confidentiality and Safeguarding Children.  The course will give you the chance to get to know Home-Start, will give us the chance to get to know you, and will reassure you about the support available from the staff team.  There is no obligation to complete the course - come along to see if volunteering for Home-Start is something you might enjoy.

If you're interested in gaining experience or giving something back to the community within our groups, please get in touch on 01352 744060 for an informal chat about what is involved and application pack.

Condensed volunteer training is planned as soon as we have enough participants, so hurry and express your interest!
